Senior Backend Engineer (3+ Years Experience) | LAMP / LEMP

Our senior engineers should ideally have 3 or more years of experience, they are proficient in their technology stacks, with a large appetite to learn and grow, and are expected to respect and enhance our engineering disciplines and practices.

This is a rare green/brown field opportunity for technical geeks to build cutting edge high-visibility solutions using the latest and greatest tech stacks.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build backend services for consumption via frontends and business partners
• Participate great quality code
• Participate in technical decision making with leadership and colleagues
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the services
• Respect and enforce coding standards and best practices to maintain zero technical debt and 100% test coverage
• Collaborate with a cross-functioning and self-organizing team to design and ship apps iteratively in an Agile environment
• Follow best practices in test automation and continuous delivery
• Work closely with frontend teams to create and optimize awesome user experience
• Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in cloud-native solutions
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Qualifications and Experience:

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
• Solid grasp on OOP
• 3+ years of experience developing backends
• 2+ years of experience with cloud native backends
• Exceptional hands-on experience in PHP
• Good experience in Laravel framework
• Hands-on Experience in designing, building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid knowledge of design patterns pertaining to cloud native backends
• Working experience with automated unit and integration testing of Web Services and Web APIs
• Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous delivery and devops
• Solid knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases
• Working experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Working experience with Docker is a plus
• Working knowledge of shell scripting is a plus
• Working knowledge of Agile methods and Agile technical practices
